Professional Background

I am a Registered Canadian Art Therapist (RCAT #210-R-16) with a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology from Simon Fraser University and a Master's degree in Art Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths College, University of London (UK). Since graduating, I have worked professionally for 15+ years as an art psychotherapist in both Canada and England.

As well as holding registration status through the Canadian Art Therapy Association, I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and the Western Canadian Association for Infant Mental Health. I also participate in on-going education and supervision through the Western Branch of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society and other professional organizations.

Along with my history as a mental health therapist, my past experience has included both employment and volunteering on the board of non-profit organizations that focus on serving adults and youth who use substances; survivors of sexualized violence; people living with HIV/AIDS; and arts-based health promotion.

Academia

My interests within the field of art therapy extend to research, education and writing. In addition to my direct work with clients, I currently serve as an external supervisor in the Art Therapy program at Adler University as an Adjunct Faculty member.

I also contribute to academic literature on the use of art psychotherapy with children and adolescents. I currently serve on the Editorial Board of the Canadian Journal of Art Therapy and have participated in panels at conferences hosted by the Western Branch of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society and the International Psychoanalytic Association.

Personal

I am a settler and reside on the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I identify as a white, cis-gender, queer woman and take pride in actively engaging with the diversity of cultures and experiences that our community provides.

Some of my favourite things to do include going to art galleries, attending live theatre and dance performances, and trying out as many different restaurants around the city as possible. I find inspiration and joy in creative expression which enlivens me both personally and professionally.
